PROJECT in a box can send users notifications to keep them up to date with things happening in the projects.  For this to work the user needs to hav an email address held by the system in the User details form. and the SMTP email sending needs to be set up on the server.

Two types of notifications can be sent:

Document Notifications - these keep users updated about changes to files within a document they are interested in (checkins, approvals, new files etc)

Project Control Notifications - these keep users updated about tasks, risks and issues based on rules about the properties of those items.
