The status bar can always be found at the bottom of the main PROJECT in a box pane and provides the following information (from left to right along the bar):

  • User log in status - if not logged in it will show "not logged in". If you are logged in it will show your log in user name and then your permission group for the current project after in brackets i.e. "Sid.James (modify)".  If you are an Admin user it will display Admin ahead of whichever project level permission you may hold.
  • Server - this shows the connection string for the currently selected (if not yet logged in) or connected (if logged in) server.
  • Project - Which project is currently selected.
  • Portfolio - Which Portfolio is currently selected (only for Portfolio users otherwise blank)
  • Security certificate status - If operating with an appropriate security certificate in place this will show a locked yellow padlock icon. If not using SSL or there is a certificate problem a grey open padlock icon will be shown. A single click on the padlock will show the certificate and its status.
  • Connection status - if your Windows App is passing or receiving information from the server a red light will show for 'busy' if not passing information it will show green for 'idle'.
  • Heartbeat - this shows whether a connection still exists to the server. Using your Options form you can set how often you want the client to check the server is still available, if it is available it will show "Heartbeat OK (102)" where 102 indicates the number of heartbeat checks that have been conducted since the software was started. If the user logs out the heartbeat will pause.
