The Server Management tool is a separate application which runs on the server (for single PC installations this will all be on the same PC) and provides a tool kept with four purposes:

  1. Supporting the Installation and configuration of the system (for more complicated set ups).
  2. Providing a set of system administration tools to allow the indexing service, IIS, Database, Active Directory, Project Server, Notification management, deployment client options, etc to be configured as well as status flags, naming conventions etc.. be set.  Back ups can also be taken from here, purge and log management be undertaken. The Admin tool comes with its own help file (the Technical Guide) and if users have a local server on their PC alongside a client this will show up in the help area on the normal client (Main menu > help)
  3. To host the licence which dictates the number of each type of user the system can have at any time.
  4. To host the deployment webpage which users can connect to to download their client installers.
