The Dashboard report is a report viewer which will automatically rerun a saved report specification (either portfolio or project) without changes.  Available from both the report menu and the side menu for Dashboard on the Ribbon the form opens remembering the last report you ran from it.

To change the report displayed in the Dashboard report just pick from the list and press apply.  The output is produced from current live data.
