Browser App
This is the main interface used to interact with the PROJECT in a box server from portable devices and non Windows PCs. The functionality it provides is dependant upon the permissions of the user but can vary from View only access to users basic project interactions through to a more complete interaction with existing projects for higher permissions users. From version 4.3 A good proportion of Administration capabilities are also supported in the Browser App. To get to the Browser App you will need a weblink or you can use the Browser App link on the File menu in the main client to find it. What is possible is as always dependant upon licence and permissions. If you just have a View-Only licence you can do the following: view documents in the Explorer see Team member contact details and roles View published reports you have permissions for Respond to approvals you have been invited to Update your user contact information and reset password
If you have a Team licence you will also be able to update files in the Explorer and add new files and links as required. You will also be able to use Planner Live to edit Planner files for Plan/task, risk and issue content directly into the browser app, where you have permissions on those files. If you have Modify rights on a project you will also be able to undertake some of the PM admin capabilities listed in the manager Licence section below. You will also be able to download and use the Windows App from the Resources tab if you prefer. If you have a Manager Licence and modify rights on the project you will also be able to do the following: produce and publish new Portfolio Reports produce and publish new Project Reports Examine Trend Analysis for Project Properties Setting up reporting Information If you have admin rights and a Manager licence will be able to do the following: manage project permissions by user |
